Little known secrets of my hometown "SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA"
Sunny Isles Beach is spreading magical charm throughout South Florida and has been one of the most rapidly-changing communities in America. Dating back to the 1800's when the U.S. Mail carriers where known as the "barefoot mail-men" (where today we have a walking and bike path dedicated to these essential workers) they had to travel by foot or boat because there was no road connecting Palm Beach and Miami, therefore these mail carrier's would kick off their shoes and walked along the shorelines thru Sunny Isles Beach. In the 40's and 50's Sunny isles Beach became the "Motel Capitol of the World" having the first 2 story motel in America with rooms for $4.00 a night with it's famous aquarium bar and go-go dancers. Reflecting on the amazing history behind this 2 mile stretch of land and the historic fishing pier to the beautiful beaches and sunsets. I moved from the North East to Sunny Isles 10 years ago and I have watched this Island become one of the most incredible Sky Line of Architecture and some of the most desirable developments have found their way here, Ragalia, Porsche Design, Turnberry, Armani Casa, Ritz Carlton, Acqualina just to name a few.
